5 Decor Trends to Watch in 2025
I’m not an expert on interior design by any means (my background is fine arts), but I do a lot of research on what’s trending in the decor space for the shop. This can look like reading print or design blogs, following brands on social media, and even shopping my favorite home brands’ websites.
I do have a business to run, and even though most of what I bring to the shop is stuff I would want in my own home, it’s important for me to be aware of trends that are influencing what people want to bring into their homes. It’s something that really excites me and one of the reasons I love doing what I do.
So, I thought I would share some fun trends I’ve been seeing recently in the interiors world, and some ideas on how you can incorporate some of these into your home. Vintage is always going to be your best bet for finding quality pieces, but it’s not always feasible or accessible for everyone.
I will also add the caveat that I firmly believe you should decorate to your own taste and style. Our homes should be a reflection of the things we love, the places we’ve traveled, with a little bit of personality thrown in. If these trends happen to align with what you love - it’s your year!
First up —
1. Rococo Revolution

We’ve seen this trend escalating for the past few years through the grandmillenial style and the popularity of Bridgerton and fan-favorite period films like Pride and Prejudice, and it continues to evolve. We’ll see more of a feminine touch this year with bows, ruffles and delicate florals, as well as intricate trimwork added to walls and ceilings, and the continued revival of antique decor pieces.
If this is your vibe, add these:
Bows, bows and more bows - patterned curtains, mirrors with bow details, candle holders
Gilt galore - mirrors, original art with gilt frames, ormolu antique pieces
Chandeliers - tole, Murano glass or crystal
Tassels - curtain tiebacks or hanging as unexpected accents
Ruffles and Lace - vases and catchalls with ruffled edges, ruffled pillows, lace tablecloths
Brass and marble combinations - tables, lamps and antique decor pieces
Delicate florals - small roses and baby’s breath bouquets, floral paintings
2. Eclectic Maximalism

Layers on layers on layers. From layered rugs to wallpapers to pattern-mixing, nothing is off limits. Add fun vintage and vintage-inspired pieces, grouped collections on display, and unique wall art pieces.
If this is your vibe, add these:
Vintage pillows and bedding - handmade knit or quilted blankets, ruffled sheets and pillow shams
Patterned anything - plaid, checkerboard, stripes, marbled paper - mismatch for an exceptionally eclectic vibe
Collections - plate walls, unique vases, art books, a mantel full of brass candlesticks, travel souvenirs, matchbooks, that one animal you’re obsessed with
Thrift Upcycles - add a scalloped edge to that beat up particle board end table you found and paint it a fun color
Cozy Kitchens - curtained cabinets and cafe curtains, bar/coffee carts, thrifted mismatched dishware
3. Playful & Fun

If there’s one element Gen Z is bringing to the decor world, it’s making your space your own. Bright colors and shapes can fit into a minimalist or maximalist home, meaning this trend is for everyone. We’ll see more of this through: stripes, primary colors, terrariums, aquariums, kitschy kitchens with retro vibes and bright colors, brightly patterned everything - from bedding and pillows to wallpaper!
If this is your vibe, add these:
Primary Colors - bright primary colored stripes and patterns - pillows, curtains or lamp shades, hand painted furniture pieces, fabric headboards in fun fabrics
Organic Decor - wall hangings or planters with organic shapes, stemware and utensils with bright colors and fun handles, handmade furniture pieces, scalloped edges
Figural Decor - classic sculpture pieces like Venus or The David, vases shaped like heads or feminine figures, stone busts of famous composers or artists
The Unexpected - wallpaper in small spaces, funky original art pieces, animal-shaped furniture, tufted wall hangings
Trompe L’oeil - in French it means, “deceives the eye” - add trompe l’oeil artworks on walls, doors and furniture pieces
4. Miss Americana

Americana vibes meet gothic Western in 2025. Moody hues paired with warm woods and leathers. Animal skulls and cow hide rugs - real or faux! This trend could easily get out of hand if you add too much, so stick with simple touches to keep things feeling classic.
If this is your vibe, add these:
Leather - pillow covers, catchalls, and the perfect worn in leather chair or sofa
Plaid - bedding, throw blankets, curtains (if you’re feeling daring!) or wall fabric
Mixed Metals - vintage brass, copper, and silver pieces - horses, horseshoes, horse bits, spurs or rustic inspired pieces
Ralph Lauren - pretty much anything from Ralph Lauren
Distressed Wood Furniture - Raw edges and materials with dark or worn stain, DIY a thrifted find for a sustainable option, chairs with unique woodwork
Vintage - old western books, collection of cowboy hats hanging on a wall, framed horse or country-inspired prints or paintings
Animals - (a sometimes controversial decor option) antlers, cowhide rugs or pillows, taxidermy
5. Nautical Chic

If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, chances are you had a beach-themed bathroom. Thankfully, this isn’t that, but the nautical trend is back, and not just for homes on the beach. Think of small, classic touches — a dedicated shelf for your coral or shell collection, framed antique shell lithographs, and cloches with treasures inside.
If this is your vibe, add these:
Coral - add large pieces of coral to a coffee or console table, put them in bowls or vases, or display as a collection
Shells - shell mirrors, glass boxes or vases full of your beach treasures, large conch or abalone accents on book stacks or tables
Wicker - smaller accents like wicker lamps or vases, small accent tables or shelves, wicker baskets
Ropes - nautical rope curtain tiebacks, catchalls or vases with rope texture or ropes inside, nautical-themed lamps
Framed art - prints or lithographs of antique shell or coral drawings, ocean paintings, beachside watercolors, that caricature of your family from Santa Monica Pier
