Bronze Canova Lion Bookends
A pair of bronze sculpted lion bookends based on the Canova Lions created by Antonio Canova that guarded the tomb of Pope Clement XIII at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Each bronze lion sits on a cherry wood base. Each bookends has a felted bottom. Light wear and patina overall, in excellent condition.
Measurements: Larger lion is 8.5 inches long, 3.5 inches wide and 7.25 inches tall; smaller lion is 8 inches long, 3.5 inches wide, and 7.5 inches tall.
