Maitland Smith Tessellated Stone Box
This stunning and rare unique jewelry box by Maitland Smith features tessellated stone pieces made with various color marble and inlaid with brass. The base is black marble with brass and the upper portion is gray marble, with the lid having green and black marble, as well as a lighter stone or travertine running through the middle. The lid is removable and reveals a gray, velvet-lined box to collect jewelry or other items. The top of the lid and the base are lined with the same velvet.
There is a slight green coloration near base (see third from last pic), a part where the brass isn’t flush with the stone (second to last pic), and a part where the lid isn’t flush with the base (last pic). Overall, in excellent vintage condition.
Measurements: 12 inches long by 6 inches wide (at widest point) by 6.5 inches tall
